As a wedding photographer my job often starts long before the wedding day as I get to know you and and any particular wishes for your wedding day, including timings for the day, any special arrangements and particular wishes. However, a pre-wedding shoot is also an excellent idea.

As a photographer I am often asked to undertake pre-wedding shoots and there are clear benefits. Here are 5 reasons that a pre-wedding shoot is a good idea:

1. A pre-wedding photo shoot give you a chance to work with me and for me to work with you. You will get used to the way I work and learn to relax around me which is really important if you want me to bring out the very best of you on your day.

2. It allows you to start feeling comfortable with having a camera pointing towards you and you can practice your posing - yes really - not every one is a natural around a camera and practice makes perfect!

3. Following the shoot you will find some images that you prefer over others, and you can discuss with me any images you really liked or did not like so that I can get a better idea of what works for you.

4. It gives you stunning images to use on your wedding stationary or on any social media pages or webpage if you are opting to have one for your wedding. There's nothing better than a great set of images to really personalise your invitations and information for your guests ahead of the day itself.

5. Most of all, you get to spend time with your fiancé and have fun. We can head into Leeds City Centre, Roundhay Park or even work within your home environment to take some perfect pre-wedding or engagement shots and add to the truly memorable overall experience of your wedding.
